Dr. George Tiller is fatally shot in Wichita, Kansas this morning. For those of you not aware, Dr. Tiller was probably the most infamous abortion doctor in the nation. He represented everything the pro-life movement despised of abortion. He was the personification of our culture of death. I live in Wichita and am never comfortable with our notoriety as the abortion capital of the world. First of all, I want to say that abortion is a repugnant practice. It is nothing short of murder. George Tiller engaged in the most heinous forms of this practice. Disgusting 3rd trimester stuff and partial birth abortions. He vaccummed the brains of the unborn from their skulls, taking their lives and throwing them away like garbage. He did this stuff right up to the due dates of these infants. What’s also bad is that he worked hard to promote these practices, never viewing them as a last resort, but that it being his bread and butter, his business, a business that made him wealthy, he worked to change the political attitudes in our nation towards his disgusting abuse of medicine. But I don’t think that he deserved to die. I would never endorse murder or vigilantes in this sense. If we are to overturn Roe v. Wade in our nation, we must work through the system. It is not the right of an individual to be judge, jury and executioner. This is the definition of Terrorist. The person responsible in nothing more than a terrorist. Tiller did have the endorsement of the rule of Law in most cases except those that he was under prosecution for and with those, the system should be allowed to work. For the Pro-Choice or Pro-Death movement, this act of vigilantism gives them a martyr and this comes at a time when recent polls were showing a plurality and in many cases, even a majority of sympathy for the pro-life cause and for the unborn. This does nothing to help Pro-Lifers. For proof, I only point to the recent ban of gay marriage in California. When the Gay Mafia invaded California Churches and intimidated servicegoers after the will of the people was implemented, public reaction to homosexuals and the idea of gay marriage was overwhelmingly negative. It was also negative when Perez Hilton attacked Carrie Prejean and called her a bitch because she saw marriage as being exclusively between a man and a woman. The American people simply don’t like anyone trying to force their views on anyone else in this fashion. Now, the left will harp on the intolerance of Christians when I know for a fact that the murder of Tiller, like the murder of the unborn is not what Christianity represents. It does not describe most Christians. Christians as a whole are decent and tolerant people who would never murder even in the face of this genocide. They believe in our system. They believe in changing Social attitudes and electing leaders that care about the unborn. And for our Dear Leader, he supports abortion under virtually any circumstance. Forget the fact that he waffles and says the issue is above his paygrade. Forget the fact that he pays lip service to pro-lifers at his Notre Dame commencement speech. His choice for Health and Human Services Secretary was the Governor of Kansas, Kathleen Sebelius, She is a pro-aboritionist, she had expensive dinners on the taxpayer’s dime, my dime with the fateful, George Tiller. The Murder of George Tiller only serves to put us on the defensive. That’s not typical Obama lip service to the other side. That’s what I really believe.
